COVID-19
and Dentistry

Things you need to know before going to your dentist or oral surgeon.

COVID-19 and Dental Appointments

Our office is taking every precaution to limit the spread of COVID-19. We follow strict safety protocols and clean our offices multiple times per day.

COVID-19 is transmitted from person to person via droplets through coughing/sneezing and saliva. Please practice hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette before, during, and after your visit. Please do not put your hands into your mouth or touch your face.

Even if you have a fever, cough, shortness of breath, or myalgia, or if you have had close and/or prolonged contact with an individual who has tested positive for COVID-19, you may still be treated via telemedicine. Please call our office at (215) 938-7860 with any questions.

The Oral Surgery Group continues to offer consultations via Telemedicine.

Infection Control Practices at our Offices

Once it has been determined that you are not suspected or confirmed to have COVID-19 and you require treatment in the office, rest assured that we will provide proper PPE in accordance with CDC and ADA guidelines. The spread of COVID-19 is like the spread of influenza.

Therefore, the wearing of personal protective equipment (PPE) is important and will help stop the spread. All surfaces will be disinfected following all appropriate guidelines.

How to Prepare For an In-Office Appointment

When you arrive, please:

  • Do not bring any children or relatives to your appointment. One guardian will be allowed per child patient.
  • You may be asked to wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • You may be asked to rinse your mouth with Peroxide or Hydrogen Peroxide prior to your procedure.

For At-Risk Patients

If you are high risk for or have COVID-19 requiring emergency treatment, dental treatment would be performed in a hospital setting with personnel wearing N95 masks or higher. It is important to be truthful regarding symptoms and/or exposures so that care may be delivered appropriately and lessen the spread of Covid-19.

In Conclusion

  • Your safety is our priority.
  • When possible, please practice social distancing.
  • Please practice respiratory etiquette.
  • Please wash your hands. A person may carry the virus even when they appear healthy.

Thank you for helping us slow the spread of COVID-19 while delivering safe care.
